Reading School students have attained an excellent set of results this year, with particularly strong performances in English Literature, Classics, Modern Foreign Languages, History, Philosophy and Mathematics.
Headmaster, Dr Chris Evans, reflected on the results for 2025:
“Whilst we celebrate the hard work, personal accomplishments and achievements of each individual, we want to say thank you for all that you have brought to Reading School. We are immensely proud of the young men you have become, and are very much looking forward to what you give back to the world as you embark on your next steps. Whatever your results, today is just simply the start of the next opportunity, and we wish you the very best of luck.”
In our historic 900th year, Reading School is thrilled to celebrate the achievements of each and every one of our students. Very special thanks go to our staff, whose tireless commitment, care and professionalism mean that our students are able to flourish and be well-prepared for life beyond Reading School.
Most importantly, we celebrate the men that our students have become, and the journey that they have only just started. We know that they will take with them the values of curiosity, integrity and dedication to their communities into the world of work and their lives beyond.
Additionally, we want to applaud the departments of French, Classical Civilisation and Art for exceptional performances.
Dr Evans added:
“Reading School is indebted to its community. To our staff who make our school uniquely able to give our students the best possible opportunities, to our governors whose support is always appreciated, and to our parents whose care for their sons is unwavering, we must thank each and every one of you.”
Head of Sixth Form, Alun Lloyd commented:
“We are always delighted to herald the successes of those who achieved top grades – congratulations! Your hard work and dedication inevitably paid off. Alongside exam results, we must also celebrate those who displayed exceptional character. The resilience of those who faced hardship and challenges is testament to this cohort. We are incredibly proud of how far you have all come.”
David Whitehorn, Sixth Form Transition Lead shared that:
“Record numbers of students have gained places for degree apprenticeships and directly into employment. Multiple students have gained places on a wide range of courses, including Acting, Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence. Whilst a significant majority of students will go on to study Engineering, we have also seen a rise in History, English and Sports Science offers, and want to congratulate over 20 of our students who have received successful Oxbridge offers.”
Regardless of individual next steps, we know that Reading School students are well-equipped with their minds and hearts to make the world brighter. We very much look forward to hearing the impact they have in the future.
We wish all our newest Old Redingensians the very best for the future.
