Old Redingensians are always welcome back, and we are grateful for any help you can give to improve life at Reading School. Whether it is helping out with careers talks, school events, or donating to the school, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the alumni team to have a chat and visit the school website using the button below.
By gift aiding your contribution we can reclaim an additional 25p in every £1, making your gift worth even more at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid is an invaluable source of 'extra' income. If you qualify, please click the button below as it enables us to reclaim 25p from HM Revenue and Customs for every £1 donated. We reclaim the tax by forwarding details of your gift to the Inland Revenue. The table below outlines the benefits of giving for higher-rate tax payers.
If your circumstances or details change i.e. you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income/capital gains or you simply want to cancel this declaration, please notify development@reading-school.co.uk asap.
Match funding, or match giving is a simple way to maximise the donations raised you have raised/gifted to the school. In most cases, a company pledges to match a sum of money relating to the amount the employee has either raised or donated to a charity.
As an exempt charity under schedule 2 of the Charities Act 1993, your one-off or regular donations to the school could be increased by up to 100% in this way. In most cases, the company will match your donation pound for pound up to a specific level. Please contact your HR or Corporate and Social Responsibility Department to check whether a scheme is already in place or if they would be willing to set one up.
Payroll Giving allows employees you to donate money directly from their pay to any UK registered charity or good cause through your employers chosen HMRC approved Payroll Giving Agency, such as Charitable Giving, Charities Trust or Charities Aid Foundation
3 simple steps to get started:
Contact your HR / payroll department and see if there is a Payroll Giving scheme in place.
Sign up if your employer has a scheme in place.
Send your completed form to your HR / payroll department and they will process your details.

“I give because my son is offered an array of clubs and activities that keeps him busy and engaged. I am very grateful that the school arranges them for a small contribution.”

"Opportunities made available to us came about due to selfless acts of giving from others — our parents, teachers, friends, family and, at times, even complete strangers."
Alumni of 2007
"I give to Reading School because the school provides such an excellent education for my son. I feel it is my duty to supplement the gap in annual funds and help make up this difference.”
