Old Redingensians are always welcome back, and we are grateful for any help you can give to improve life at Reading School. Whether it is helping out with careers talks, school events, or donating to the school, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the alumni team to have a chat and visit the school website using the button below.
Our aim at Reading School is to provide a first-class academic education and all-round character development to ensure all our students are well prepared for life beyond Reading School. Building for the Future Fund is a way for the Redingensians community to grow our collective efforts to support our academic, pastoral and co-curricular provisions as well as meet immediate refurbishment requirements.
Donations to the Building for the Future Fund enable us to meet critical needs and allow the school to provide opportunities that enable our students to extend their aspirations, skills and range of interests beyond the classroom whilst helping to create a challenging and engaging experience for all our students. Whilst public funding contributes to some of what we can provide, there has been an increasing demand to fill the gap in order to continue to provide facilities and opportunities we believe our students deserve, which can include major upgrades to school facilities and the maintenance and conservation of our Grade II listed buildings. We have gone from a 4 form entry to a 5 form entry and the school's development needs continually evolve with over 1100 students on roll.
We believe that every child deserves to reach their full potential and we strive to offer exceptional opportunities in academics, arts, drama, music, sports, CCF and electives, allowing our students to stretch themselves. Creating a diverse and inclusive community that enriches our shared experience and sense of belonging.
Every contribution you make to Reading School makes a significant difference to our pupils and you can support our mission to provide and maintain valuable opportunities for our students as well as provide refurbishments of key areas - Building for the Future. We want to make sure we are in a position to offer the same 'Reading Way' experience for each and everyone of our students for this year and beyond. Reading School will be 900 years old in 2025. We are proud of our traditions and rich history as an outstanding school. Any gift, large or small, is hugely appreciated. We welcome regular donations providing Reading School with the additional assurance of security and forward planning for the future.
Future Stories is a social mobility project working in partnership with local primary schools. The aim of the Future Stories project is to ensure that Reading School is full of high ability students from a range of social and economic backgrounds, who are eager to reach their future story goals.
The Leavers' Gratitude Gift is a departing gift from the families of Upper Sixth Leavers in support of the Building for the Future. The gift is a collective effort to ensure that opportunities are afforded to all Redingensians in the future and aims to continue the long-standing tradition of giving back. All gifts big or small are welcome.
