At Reading School, we are dedicated to equipping our students with the knowledge and guidance they need to explore diverse career opportunities and make informed decisions about their future. That’s why we always welcome alumni and parents to share their insights and experiences to inspire the next generation.

On 23rd January, we were delighted we were delighted to welcome Amit Saxena, a current parent and Principal Partner Technical Specialist with over 22 years of experience, to deliver his talk ‘Inspire Lecture: Sustainability – A Path to Impactful Careers.’

As a Technical Leader for Sustainability at IBM, Amit plays a key role in driving the growth and adoption of IBM’s sustainability software solutions across the UK and Ireland, working closely with partners to advance sustainability initiatives.

During the talk, Amit highlighted the importance of Sustainability & ESG and how technology is driving sustainability efforts. He also discussed various career opportunities in the field, including roles in Sustainability Consultancies, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Finance & the Public Sector. Additionally, he provided insights into career pathways at IBM, covering business and technical roles, as well as opportunities through degree apprenticeships.

We extend our sincere thanks to Amit for taking the time to inspire our students and share his expertise.

If you're interested in imparting your professional knowledge to our students through a brief talk, workshop, tutorial, or inspire lecture, please reach out to Jas Chhokar or Esther Chong at alumni@reading-school.co.uk.
