OR Drinks in The City 2026

70+ Old Redingensians came together at the Royal Ocean Racing Club in St James's for our annual OR Drinks in the City and even a Wednesday night England fixture couldn't keep them away!

Before the drinks reception, Headmaster Chris Evans (OR 1990–1997) chaired the second OR Advisory Committee meeting of the year, bringing ORs directly into conversations about the school's future direction. It's a reminder that this network isn't just nostalgia; it's a working part of how Reading School plans ahead.

The evening moved into informal networking, then an intimate dinner for a smaller group in the Club's historic setting. ORs caught up with Ned Holt, former Head of Sixth Form (OR 1966–1972) and Robert Baldock, current Head of English, both giving their time to the OR community.Ned

From recent graduates taking their first steps in their careers to alumni reconnecting with friends from decades past, the evening brought together Old Redingensians from across generations, professions and industries. It was a wonderful reminder of the strength, diversity and enduring spirit of our alumni community and of just how valuable these opportunities are for reconnecting, sharing experiences and forging new connections.

Joshua Hughes (OR 2016-2023) said, "Thank you for introducing me to those who have established careers in Law; those insights were really helpful.”

It was wonderful to welcome ORs who joined us from overseas, underlining the truly global reach of the Redingensians network.

Special thanks to Fraser Peck (OR 1999–2006) for securing the venue and organising the evening with the Redingensians Office (formerly Society Office). Events like these are only possible because of the generosity and enthusiasm of ORs who give their time to bring the community together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, including partners.
