This year marks the introduction of Speech Day, kindly sponsored by the Reading Foundation. This inaugural event brings together what were formerly the Junior Prize Giving and Senior Prize Giving into a single, refreshed celebration of student achievement.
Parents/carers of Year 7–10 students are warmly invited to join us for the Junior Celebration ceremony, promptly commencing at 9:00am.
During the ceremony, prizes will be awarded to students nominated by Heads of Department, recognising students’ Curiosity, Collaboration, Reflectiveness and Independence. The programme will also include music performances and a keynote address from a guest speaker.
Following the ceremony, there will be a range of performances and presentations across year groups in different locations. These will include:
The event will conclude on the School Field at 12:00, at which point students will be dismissed. The expectation is that students will go home with their parents if they have attended the Speech Day - Junior Celebration. Year 7 and Year 8 students who are unable to leave at 12:00 may remain in the LRC under staff supervision until the end of the school day. Boarding students for whom it is impractical to return home with their parents in the afternoon will be supervised by boarding staff.
Due to capacity constraints, we regret that attendance is limited to a maximum of two family members per child.
Important notes
In the event of a severe weather forecast, we will postpone the event to Wednesday 15th July.
Students receiving individual prizes will be notified separately by email no later than Monday 15th June.
Food and refreshments will be available to purchase onsite from The Reading School Parents’ Association (RSPA).
Please click “RSVP” above to register your attendance. Students do not need to register.
