Reading School vs Marylebone Cricket Club – Annual 1st XI Fixture
Now in its 129th iteration, this historic fixture has been proudly contested since 1898, making it one of Reading School’s longest-standing sporting traditions. Organised by Mr Ryan Blade, Teacher of PE and Head of Cricket, and supported by the Events Team, this much-anticipated annual match celebrates competitive, high-quality cricket, founded on respect, sportsmanship and a shared love of the game.
We warmly welcome you to join us, particularly for the second session of the day, to cheer from the boundary or simply enjoy the match. During the evening session, there will also be friendly taster cricket activities in the nets, giving parents, siblings and students a chance to have a go themselves. Your presence will help make the day truly special and celebrate our community’s passion for cricket.
There will also be external caterers on site offering pizza and ice cream available to purchase. You are, of course, very welcome to bring your own food, a picnic blanket to sit on, and any other refreshments to enjoy during the day.
