Join us for Reading School’s Community Carnival – Celebrating Our 900th Anniversary!

Join us on Saturday 5th July 2025 from 11:00 to 16:00 as Reading School proudly hosts a day of fun, culture, and celebration in honor of our 900th Anniversary! This exciting event will bring together our partner primary schools, local families, neighbors, businesses, hospital staff, and community partners to celebrate the cultural diversity of Reading.

What to Expect:

Live Performances: Enjoy a variety of performances across two stages throughout the day, featuring:

• Primary school glee clubs, dance troupes, and choirs
• Community choirs, orchestras, and Brazilian dance groups
• Streetdance crews, award-winning pianists, jazz bands, and cultural dance groups
• Plus, our very own Reading School choirs, jazz bands, and guitar ensembles performing live

Activities & Workshops:

• Cultural Workshops: Experience and learn cultural dance and art
• Fun Activities: Bouncy castles, inflatable assault courses, face painting, tombola, escape room, and a climbing wall
• Sports: Get involved in penalty shootouts, esports, table tennis, badminton, fencing, and rowing
• Streetdance Showcase: Watch live performances, graffiti art, DJ sets, and join in with streetdance workshops
• Wellbeing Area: Relax and recharge in our 5-senses area with yoga, sound baths, massages, and craft activities

Food & Drink:

• Local food vendors, ice cream trucks, and bars will be offering delicious, diverse culinary options throughout the day.
• There will also be a cultural cake bake competition.
• Take a break and enjoy a picnic in our designated areas, or relax in a marquee with friends and family.
