Benedict Sandiford, South Street Arts Centre’s award winning theatre maker (Jackson’s Corner, The Final Whistle, Being Gordon Greenidge), is delighted to present a brand new original piece of theatre charting the 900 year history of Reading School.
‘Alma Mater’ will be performed by Benedict Sandiford (Head of Drama), alongside members of the Sixth Form Theatre Studies cohorts, as they guide you through a promenade performance across the school site, taking in the heroes and villians of the school’s rich history, the students that shaped the country in war and peacetime, and finally explains just how the school stipend from the Mayor actually works!
‘Alma Mater’ is a comedic, irreverent and historically fascinating piece of contemporary theatre for a limited audience of 25 per show, come and join ‘The Oldest Boy’ for a jaunt through 900 years of Reading School as we sing ‘Floreat Redingensis’ from the very rafters!
