Are you curious about careers in public service, international development, diplomacy, or national security? Join us for an engaging talk with Noam Rosenbaum (OR 2011-2018), a British diplomat currently working in Pakistan.
In this session, Noam will share his journey through public service, exploring careers in international development, diplomacy, and national security. He will discuss what it means to work in or alongside the public sector and the diverse pathways available in these fields.
Most importantly, this session will be an open discussion on the "what," "why," and "how" of driving progress globally—where it happens, why it matters, and how you can be part of it, both now and in the future.
Speaker Bio:
Noam is a British diplomat working in Pakistan, his fifth role in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. He joined the diplomatic service via the Diplomatic and Development Economics Fast Stream (graduate) programme in 2022, previously working and interning in Switzerland and Cyprus in international development and aid for refugees and asylum seekers, including as an interpreter. While a research assistant, he advised governments and UN agencies on green fiscal policy and capacity building. He studied in the UK and Switzerland (Swiss European Mobility Programme, Erasmus-style), including an MSc in Economics part-time alongside his work.
Noam was at Reading School from 2011-2018: if his maths is right (treat with care), that means at least one year of current students at the school may have been there while he was. He is excited to return to the school and meet some of you!
